Story
After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter Astrid accidentally opens the portal to the afterlife. Jenna Ortega, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci share why filming Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice was an experience they’ll never forget. Tim Burton has said he would only make the film if Michael Keaton returned to reprise his role. Lydia informs Astrid that Rory wants to get married at midnight on Halloween night.

I don’t know why
For some reason, people are critical of this movie. It’s a competent and intelligent sequel, living up to its predecessor in almost every way. It brings back most of the original cast as well as some welcome new faces. It’s also nice to have Tim Burton back in the director’s chair. He’s managed to retain the feel of the original and translate it just enough to keep the style without feeling like a stale rehash.
Good job Tim!
My only negative about the movie is that it takes a while to get to all the Beetlejuice elements. Sure, there’s a lot of story to tell between the original and now, but some of it could have been condensed into shorter segments. Overall, it’s faithful to the original sequel, with all the weird and wacky stuff from the original. a. While it takes a while to get going, once you do, you’ll be hooked.
If you weren’t a fan of the original, this one won’t change your mind
However, if you are a fan and want more story, you can’t go wrong with this unnecessary but welcome sequel 4 Bobi out of 5.
